Description

Protect and Store Your Filaments

PolyDryer™ is your ultimate 3D filament drying & storage solution which protect against dust and moisture. Printing with wet 3D filament can lead to various issues, such as stringing, clogging and rough or poor surface quality, especially noticeable during high-speed printing.

PolyDryer™, featuring modular design, superior sealing and optimized drying system, ensures quick and even drying with its Dry Dock, whilst offering the dual function with its PolyDryer™ Box as a 3D filament dry box.

Thanks to the high precision heat control system, fan and PTC heater, PolyDryer™ is compatible with all popular 3D printing materials with 3 preset power levels including PLA, ABS, ASA, PETG, Nylon (PA), TPU, PC and more. In addition to timed filament drying, filament can also be dried continuously with "Continuous Drying Mode", to ensure thorough drying of all filament layers, providing double assurance of material quality. The sticker on the dry dock lists all suitable power levels for most common materials. If you are using materials from other brands, please check the softening temperature of the filament first before using a higher power level.

      Great concept but poor execution

As the title says, it is a great concept but there are a many issues. Lets address the glaring one, the dry box is a ridiculously priced for a drybox, but fortunately you can buy 8 cereal containers for the price of a single polybox and print an adapter. Add to that there is no storage for the feet and the desiccant is on the wrong end with the vents directed in the wrong way, the hold down clips are way too oversized and you can't stack the boxes which all add up to make the polybox a total disaster of a design.

The heater unit is really what you are buying and I wish I had the option just to buy just the heater unit without the drybox. The heater has some flaws like not being able to be turned on continuously, the fan has less air flow than a fish blowing bubbles and is super noisy and you can't actually see the air temp (not even on their mini meter). It goes on, the display has no temp control just 3 levels, the alarm that goes off when heating period is finished is way too loud and unnecessary as is the beeps on every button click. You also can't read the LCD on the heater without being straight on, so if you put them on a desk you have to squat down so your eyes are level with the heater in order to read the display which would not be an issue except you can't put them into "always on mode" so requires a squat every time...

In saying that, with the custom setup of cheap cereal containers with adapter it works like a charm, I can now grab a container with spool off the shelf and whack it on a dryer before use and do the same when returning it to the shelf. No more stuffing around stacking rolls in a dehydrator or exposing multiple rolls to air just to grab a new spool. Hopefully X3D will carry just the heat unit in the future and I will buy a bunch more.
