Are there cracks on the sides of tall prints?
Printing tall models is tricky as the top layers cool faster since they are already too far away for the heat from the print bed to reach. As an effect, it also messes up with the adhesion.
Solutions:
Making sure that the temperature is kept consistent throughout the print can prevent this from happening:
- Adjust the fans: The fans have to be aimed at the model at a reduced speed.
- Increase the extruder temperature: To keep the top layers from cooling, increase the extruder temperature by 10ºC. Make sure to keep the temperature within the range of working hot end temperatures as recommended by the filament manufacturer.
